Synopsis.

A retelling of The Little Mermaid. Beyond The Waves is a queer, loose take on the Disney version of the story by Hans Christian Anderson.

Atlantica is on the edge of a war with the human kingdom, Tirulia.

As the youngest child of King Triton, you are sent above the waves to settle things between the two kingdoms, as a last resort.

You are welcomed with disgusted glances and few warm smiles.

And peace seems to be the last thing on the human king’s mind.

Romance Options.

Ursula: You heard whispers of her when you were younger—A powerful sea witch that many feared and still do fear, yet no one has seen her in almost a decade. Until you meet her: she is turbulent and calm, unyielding and diplomatic. She is a mystery.

Finn/Firth “Flounder”: Your childhood friend, who leaves with you to provide support and assistance. Nervous with good intentions and always there to press a caring and lingering hand to your shoulder.

Prince Eric/Princess Erica: The child of the human king. They are kind, unexpectedly so, when their father is so cruel. With a love for adventure and a charming smile, they always find a way to keep you entertained.

Sebastian: He is the one your father assigned to watch over you. He is strong-willed and wound tight, keeping his feelings close to his chest lest someone sees inside.
